Benin City, Edo State – In a bid to strengthen collaboration and foster mutual growth, the Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN) paid a courtesy visit to the management of Independence Television Benin (ITV). Led by the Edo State Chairman of DGN, Mr. Davidson Izegaegbe and the National PRO, Mr. Jeremiah Onoge , the delegation was warmly received by the Managing Director of ITV, Dr. Elvis Obaseki.
The visit, which took place at the ITV headquarters, saw the DGN delegation consisting of prominent members such as Mr. Jeremiah O. Onoge, the National P.R.O. of DGN, Mr. J. B. Negbenebor, the Edo State Secretary, Arc. Edwin Erabor, a member of DGN, Mr. Stanley Orobosa, the Edo State Chairman of the Cinematographer Society of Nigeria (CSN), Miss Angela Edosa, an actor, Comrade Omorogie Amienye, the Social Media Officer, and Mr. Michael Odunshaye, also an actor.
During the meeting, both parties engaged in fruitful discussions on the development and promotion of Nollywood, as well as the advancement of film directors in Edo State and beyond. Recognizing the significant contributions of ITV to the growth of the Nigerian film industry, a partnership agreement was reached between DGN and ITV.
The partnership aims to create a platform for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and capacity building for directors and filmmakers. It seeks to leverage the expertise and resources of both organizations to enhance the quality of Nigerian films and promote the industry’s growth. By working together, DGN and ITV hope to create more opportunities for talented filmmakers and contribute to the overall development of the Nigerian film industry.
As a token of appreciation for ITV’s outstanding contributions to the promotion of Nollywood and film directors in Edo State, a plaque was presented to the management of ITV at the end of the courtesy visit by the National PRO Mr. Jeremiah Onoge. The plaque symbolizes the deep gratitude and recognition of DGN for ITV’s unwavering support and commitment to the Nigerian film industry.
Dr. Elvis Obaseki, the Managing Director of ITV, expressed his delight at the partnership agreement and the recognition bestowed upon ITV.
